Glenbrae Finest British Knitwear

Cameron Farrell

Although only 22 years of age, Cameron has spent most of his years enjoying a passion for golf. Following on from his father’s success (Cameron’s father, Robert, is the Head Professional at Cardross Golf Club), Cameron also works at the club as Assistant Pro. ‘My Dad has been a Professional at Cardross for 22 years…I played all of my junior golf at the club and was even Gents Club Champion at the age of 16’. Cameron has represented his club, county and country in the 22 years he has been golfing, but still hasn’t developed any rituals or superstitions over that time, preferring to keep a focussed mind and get his equipment ready, warm up and have a massive breakfast on the morning of an event!

When asked which sporting legends inspired him, Cameron told us that his heroes are Rory Mcilroy and Sir Alex Ferguson. Sir Alex sheerly for his work ethic and Rory simply for the way he plays his golf. His favourite quote however, comes from another famous golfer, Tiger Woods – “No matter how good you get you can always get better and that’s the exciting part”. This is a quote which Cameron holds in good stead, as in October this year, he will be starting the PGA Foundation Degree at the University of Highlands and Islands, based in Dornoch. It’s also quite close to the mantra which Cameron lives by – “to practice hard and to try and be the best you can be, but most of all, just enjoy the game”.

What is your favourite colour?

“My favourite colour is blue. I love the bright colours in the Glenbrae range, and although my favourite colour is blue, my favourite in the collection at the moment is Amethyst”

Which is your favourite piece from the range?

“I love the Merino Zip Neck Slipover as it’s such a smart piece. I enjoy wearing the whole range, as I find it so comfortable and there’s a great choice with a piece for every occasion. The products are second to none, and just fit me so well. I usually wear the knitwear with my golfing trousers, but I have also been known to wear it casually, with a pair of jeans.”

Do you always pick out your outfit before an event?

“When I’m going to work or playing an event at home, I would choose what I’m going to wear on the day. But when I’m away, I always take time to plan my outfit. I usually co-ordinate a shirt with a sweater and a slip over (in case of any weather changes!).”
