With a string of golfers to our bow we have recently widened our reach to include the stars of Rugby union and cricket with the latest sportsman to join the ranks being scrum-half, Lee Dickson. Lee is Captain of Rugby Union’s Premiership champions; Northampton Saints. He generously took a day out of his gruelling schedule to spend a day with us a few weeks ago when we took him on a tour of the mill and told him all about Glenbrae. He of course kept us entertained with anecdotes about life at Franklin's Gardens. Here are a few photos from the day.
Along with Lee this year we have had three cricketers join the team: Andrew Gale - captain of the Yorkshire cricket team who have just won the County Championships for the second time. James Taylor a Nottinghamshire right hander who was the 653rd man to play Test cricket for England and the first born in the 1990s and Glen Chapple, another right handed batter who led Lancashire County Cricket club to success in 2011 and in the same year he became the fifth player to score 7’000 runs and take 700 wickets for his county. While we haven’t had the pleasure of showing Glen around we were honoured to have Andrew and James here earlier this year and hope they enjoyed the tour and had an insight into why our knitwear is the best of the best.
