Glenbrae Finest British Knitwear

Style of the Month- Stitch Detail

This season Glenbrae is launching a very exciting new style for ladies that incorporates a delicate stitch design, adding extra interest to the brand’s classic look.

The pattern uses a mixture of knit and purl stitches to create the delicate texture, which is a technique that has been around for centuries. The Victoria and Albert museum has a petticoat that was knitted in this way depicting flora and fauna including an elephant and a lion.  Made in the early 18th Century it has a circumference of over three metres and no element in the design is repeated - an amazing feat considering the historical context.  A more grisly example can be found at the Museum of London. Knitted in silk, the garment was worn by Charles I at his execution!

Glenbrae’s elegant new styles are manufactured in the brand’s unique Spirol yarn, using seamless technology, with the diamond design forming a continuous repeat that flows around the body of the jumper.

This new style comes in four shades, Lagoon, Iris, Rose and Imperial with two necklines, V Neck and Crew Neck, which is the first time we have introduced a Crew in Merino to our Women's range.

This is the most versatile of our sweaters, ideal for on the course with all of our sports garment quality such as movability and temperature control, whilst having the ideal look for shopping, drinks or work wear. You can pair the V Neck with a shirt for on the course or at the office with a skirt. Both styles work well with trousers & boots or even jeans & pumps for a relaxed weekend look.

Already a huge hit with our stockists, the new extra feminine garments are available from any good Glenbrae stockist.
