Created with care from beginning to end
Our textile mill has worked in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside for over 100 years. We understand the importance of sustainable practices and take our responsibility to the environment seriously. In fact, balancing the needs of our customers, suppliers and employees, with the wellbeing of the animals who provide our natural fibres, is integral to the way we work.
Over time, we have developed relationships with suppliers who husband their animals sympathetically, adopted finishing techniques which minimise the quantities of dyestuff and chemicals released into local drainage systems, and installed quality control systems to monitor our processes. We have also explored numerous ways to reduce the amount of power we use to make a kilo of yarn, and strive to decrease this figure year on year.
Whilst these initiatives increase our costs, we believe it is a price worth paying.
